ASSESSMENT

ASSESSMENT

Psychoeducational, neuropsychological, psychological, & gifted evaluations. Assessment/evaluation services help your child succeed in their educational environment. They also provide recommendations to help growth and development socially, emotionally, and related to behavioral concerns. Whether your child may benefit from additional support academically or behaviorally, a comprehensive assessment will allow us to understand more about your child’s unique strengths and weaknesses. Based on information gathered from the evaluation, I provide clear, specific, and tailored recommendations to further help your child and family.  Neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments may be used to diagnose:

Learning disorders related to reading, writing, and math
Dyslexia
ADHD
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Anxiety Disorders
Depressive and Mood Disorders
Language & Communication Disorders

Psychological and neuropsychological evaluations may include measurements that assess:
Cognitive Skills (Intelligence or IQ)
Attention and Impulsivity
Memory
Language
Visual Spatial Skills
Academic Skills
Adaptive Functioning
Social Emotional Functioning

Assessment can also be helpful to access the need for accommodations in school, including:
504 plans for accommodations at school
Individualized Education Programs (IEP) for academic interventions and accommodations at school
Exam Accommodations (i.e. ACT, SAT, other high school exams, etc.)
Graduate Exam Accommodations (i.e. LSAT, GRE, MCAT, etc.)
College Accommodations

Additionally, I use information from these assessments to help guide treatment planning when there are social, emotional, and/or behavioral concerns.

Gifted Assessments are provided to assess if your child qualifies for a gifted placement in their school. This is an individually administered assessment that includes a cognitive evaluation (Intelligence or IQ evaluation) and an academic assessment when needed.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

I provide therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, school-related and social difficulties, and attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

I tailor therapy to meet the specific and unique needs of each client. Using a collaborative therapeutic approach, I create a safe and supportive environment to facilitate growth and change. I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, interpersonal, and solution-focused. I also have training in Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), parent management skills training, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). SPACE is a parent-based intervention that has been proven effective in treating childhood anxiety and OCD.

PARENT WORK & CONSULTATION

PARENT WORK & CONSULTATION

I work parents to assist with their child’s growth and development. This may include parent management skills training, incorporating components of Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), and parent work based on the Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) protocol.

Additionally, I provide consultation services to help parents related to educational placement and services and potential treatment options. I can also provide an initial consultation to help determine whether further evaluation is warranted.

Consultation of this nature may include a clinical intake to gather background history, review of educational and/or medical records, review of prior test results or evaluations, and consultation with other professionals. Consultation services may also be provided with your child’s educators, including teachers, tutors, and school staff, to help
